An experienced Illustrator / Storyboard Artist with a strong sense of visual storytelling you are proficient in a variety of illustrator and storyboard software and can execute rough sketches and refined artwork in a variety of media and styles including, black and white, minimalist, realistic, cartoon, old storybook and etching/engraving style.


The Creative department brings all of Hanai World’s imaginary concepts to life. They shape the ideas that become experiences that capture the imagination of people around the world.


Reporting to the Senior Art Director, you will be responsible for visually translating the visions and scripts of the CCO and those of their creative collaborators into images to be validated and inserted into the Creative brief before they are illustrated by the Game Concept Artist or implemented by the technical team into X-tended reality. You will transform abstract concepts into visually compelling freehand or digital illustrations, design and visualize motion sequences, concept designs and production art, and will adapt and update your work as the project progresses.


  • Working with the Chief Creative Officer and Senior Art Director you will transform verbal instructions and abstract concepts into visually compelling freehand images
  • You will create storyboards that depict action, sequences, layouts and shots
  • You will present your storyboards/illustrations to Senior Art director, Chief Creative Officer and other members of the team
  • You will revise, edit and modify sketches as required
  • You will use various computer programs to enhance visual presentations
  • You will assist with visual exploration, research, and/or creation of design (character/environments) as require and participate in creative brainstorming sessions


  • You have a minimum of a Bachelor or College Degree in Graphic Design, Animation, Illustration or other visual arts and at least 3 years’ experience as a storyboard artist/illustrator in the game, movie or advertising industries
  • You have exceptional drawing skills and sense of design, character and composition
  • You can take direction and follow an established design style
  • You are able to interpret and visualize scripts and convey ideas quickly in black and white and have an excellent understanding of layout, composition, sequential drawing and editing
  • You are detail oriented and able to adapt and create new visual styles
  • Ability to visualise perspective, 2d, and 3-dimensional space
  • You have strong communication and presentation skillsYou have a compelling portfolio of work (in web, video game, film and other mediums)
  • You have strong knowledge of freehand design as well as 2D and 3D creation tools including leading industry design software
  • You are familiar with storyboarding software
  • You can work both independently and as part of a team
  • You are able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • You have good communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal
